I've found my retirement home

Port Douglas...... or the Daintree but only in the dry season.

We have been here for 2 days & leave tomorrow:( This place is magic...... We found a fabulous park just out of Port in a place called Craiglie & it's great, only draw back is the mozzies, sandflies & bloody bats screeching & flapping around in the bushes at 3am..... luckily I needed to go to the loo.

Yesterday we eventually headed off to the Daintree & Cape Tribulation, much to some protesting from 1 passenger. As he is not of legal age he had no say in whagt was happening so had to "tag along".... he had a great day after all too. We caught the ferry (a little bigger than what we're used to at Berowra Waters) across the croc infested Daintree River & headed into the World Heritage National Park. Thankfully John was driving or we may not have made it too far along the road - you all know what a sticky beak I am. The lush forest with so many different species of plants would make any Don Bourke fan wet themselves.

We stopped at Floravilla Ice Creamery & had a cup of the most divine ice cream you'll ever taste. I had passionfruit, banana & ginger with real ginger pieces, John had banana & ginger, Loz had banana & passionfruit & Hayd had chocolate & ginger. It was soosososososososo yummmmm. This little old lady makes it all by hand & only sells it in her shop. With our tummies topped up we went on our merry way. We stopped off at Noah's Beach for a walk along the beach. The tide was out & the beach was just beautiful. Soft sand, warm water, no croc's that we knew of & miles of beach to walk along. - i'll post photo's when I've uploaded them....

We had an ordinary lunch at Cape Trib as there wasn't much to offer & the take away wanted $7.00 for a hot dog..... so we had a pie & went for a stroll to the beach - for something different.

Then headed home along the winding road. We stopped on 2 bridges for me to take photo's but car's came so I missed them.

If you get the chance to come up here you must. It's magic & if I can work on John in 10-15 years we might be back..... finger's crossed....

Hope you're enjoying my notes, there'll be more photo's to come too.

Miss you all & hope you're all well & safe.

Oh & we saw our first "wild" croc this morning. Hoping to catch him again tomorrow....
