Emerald to Mackay

After arriving at Sapphire on a very hot day we were looking forward to cooling off with a cold beer or wine. The beer was cold but the wine wasn't but that didn't stop me.

The kids had a ball (including John) feeding the lorrikeets, they were very hungry. They enjoyed a meal of bread & apples then took off for something better. The park we stgayed at was amazing. It had been taken over by new owners only 3 weeks before we got there & they were still settling in but it was really nice. We used their BBQ room to cook dinner in & ate there & were later joined by the owner & other guests which was nice & welcoming - shame we were only there 1 night.

NExt morning we went gem fosiking. We got a few little one's each & much to John's dismay nothing big enough to retire on.

After fossiking we headed for Garraway St, Mackay to the Worsley's..... yyeeaaahh...

We drove through some dry flat country but also some amazing things we saw. One attraction for me was when I saw the Southern Cross Auto Electric's billboard. Sorry Sean but I was thirlled by it even if the local's aren't..

We spent 4 fabo days with my sister & her family. Kids got on like a house on fire & Jick & I caught up which was also great.

We unfortunately left Mackay on the wednesday & headed for Airlie Beach - got it round the wrong way oopps....
